Announcements:
Have a wonderful summer!!!
- Oobleck Recipe: 2 parts cornstarch, 1 part water
Homework: I do not give homework; however, here are some skills that you could work on with your child!
- Word Families: We use these to sound out words when we are reading stories. Here are the ones we have done: an, et, at, en, ig, og, ug
- Writing: Practice writing words from our word families (at, ad, ip, ug, et, ill, en, ake) and sight words (the, we, see, here, etc.). Practice writing 2s, 5s, and 10s up to 100.
- Reading: Practice sounding out simple words. Look for familiar word endings that we have worked on (at, ad, am, an, en, ig, og, etc.). It is important to read every night!
- Counting: 1-100 and backwards from 20-0. Also work on counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s. Use pennies, nickels, and dimes to count.
- Comparing Numbers: Write some numbers on a paper. Have your child choose the greater/smaller numbers. Use the language "greater than/less than."
- Number Sentences: Practice writing equations (2+1=3). Draw pictures to show the equations.
